Mooloolaba Christmas Boat Parade

The annual Mooloolaba Christmas Boat Parade is a highlight of the Christmas festivities here in Mooloolaba. Boats and watercraft of all shapes and sizes are decorated with lights and take part in a parade which wends its way around the Mooloolaba canal system from the Wharf, to La Balsa Park, to Outrigger Park, along the Sir Charles Clarke Park on River Esplanade and back to The Wharf.

There are plenty of places from which you can view the parade – The Wharf, the boat ramp near the Coast Guard building, Penny Lane Park, O’Connor’s Reach, La Balsa Park. Starting at 6.30pm and finishing at around 7.40pm  this is a magical spectacle that the whole family can enjoy.

The parade is organised by the Mooloolaba Yacht Club located at The Wharf, Mooloolaba. It is supported by The Wharf Tavern, Sunshine Coast Regional Council, G.T. Print, Kawana Shopping World, Waterfront Agents, Hot91 FM and Mooloolaba Business and Tourism. The nominated charity for this event in 2014 is The RACQ CareFlight Rescue.

The 2014 parade was on 20th December. There were prizes for the Best Dressed Boat and the Best Dressed House/Building.

The 2015 Mooloolaba Christmas Boat Parade will be held on the 12th December and promises to be as spectacular as previous parades.
