September 2016 Newsletter August was full of all kinds of excitement: The Pacific Jewel arrived and over 1000 passengers disembarked. Most spent the weather-perfect day walking around Mooloolaba. Some of our friends were on the cruise so it was nice to spend some time with them. May 2016 Newsletter May 2016 newsletter. Mooloolaba Beach was the scene of sprints and flags events for the Australian National Surf Life Saving Championships in April. The beach in front of the Surf Club was sectioned off and groomed. A large spectator stand was erected. Maroochydore and Alex beaches hosted other events over the ten days of competition. We were impressed with the organisation involved and congratulate the three surf clubs which hosted the event, the thousands of competitors, administrators and officials who took part. Mooloolaba Triathlon

The annual Subaru Mooloolaba Triathlon Festival has been held in Mooloolaba each March since 1993. USM owns and manages the event.  While the event attracts elite international and international athletes, there are also events for the “not so elite”. The Elite men’s and Elite Women’s events are the feature events for the three day festival.
